History of J. W. Grand, Inc.

In 1975, J. W. Grand, Inc., was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During the industrial construction boom of the mid 1970’s, the company quickly established its presence in the construction industry and rapidly began expanding. A large percentage of the projects being handled consisted of renovations of commercial and institutional structures, additions and new construction.

In the early 1980’s J.W. Grand diversified and entered the industrial market. Due to the limited experience in this area, many contacts were made with industrial construction organizations in order to formulate solid policies and procedures that met or exceeded industry standards for safety, quality and the necessary level of commitment to be successful as an industrial contractor. In a short time, industrial contracting became second nature to J.W. Grand, and the company became firmly established in the industry.

By the mid 1980’s the decision was made to expand geographically again into another diversified and prosperous market. After extensive research, J. W. Grand, Inc. opened its second office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Over the ensuing years, the Raleigh Branch firmly established itself in the health care, educational, commercial and institutional markets providing new construction, as well as renovations, design build, site work, and utility services.

Today, J. W. Grand building construction licenses in Louisiana. Forty two years after its inception, J. W. Grand continues to be an integral part of the commercial and industrial construction scene throughout the South.
